Biography

Frank Dickson started boxing as a featherweight when he was a teenager and, after a brief spell at the North London Boxing Club, joined the Belsize Club at the age of 16. He would spend more than 25 years with them, many as the finest captain the club had ever seen. Due to business commitments in the City of London, Dickson was forced to retire from the club in 1911, although he remained as a vice-president and continued to officiate at club bouts.

As well as being a boxer, Dickson was a well-known boxing referee. He was also a fine all-round sportsman in the North London area, and was an excellent swimmer and member the of the Hampstead Lacrosse Club.
