Jan Peeters

Jan Peeters devoted his life to the world of horses as a noted trainer, instructor, and judge in equestrian dressage. After starting out as an instructor, Peeters became instrumental in developing a Dutch judges’ training programme and designing multiple dressage tests. As a judge he achieved 5* status, which saw him officiate at multiple international FEI championships, as well as the Olympics in Atlanta in Sydney.

Due to his age Peeters retired as a judge in 2009, and was awarded with a special gold pin from the Dutch Equestrian Federation. He later became a member of the FEI Judges Supervisory Panel, serving at the 2012 London Olympics. As a trainer Peeters worked with the Dutch youth teams and was behind an initiative to create an under-25 division in the Netherlands.
