Biography

In 1950 Zygmunt Grodner graduated from his local school of dental technology before graduating from the Medical Academy of Warszawa five years later. Grodner was a noted paediatric surgeon who worked at the WAM hospital for most of his life. Away from his day job he competed in the sport of fencing and became the Polish épée champion in 1951. The following year Grodner was selected to compete in the team épée event at the Helsinki Olympics. Poland, however, finished last in their pool and were eliminated.
