Biography

Maja Murić was a Croatian tennis player who played professionally from 1990 to 2002. Murić achieved a career-best singles ranking of #204 in the world in February 1995, and a doubles ranking of #60 in the world in July 1994. After her tennis career she did extensive work with charitable organisations.

Murić won eight ITF doubles titles during her career with her first one coming in August 1991 in Pesaro, Italy. She only won one ITF singles title with a straight sets victory against Kerry-Anne Guse in December 1994 in Nuriootpa, Australia. Murić’s best Grand Slam performance came in the doubles at Wimbledon in 1994 when she and her partner Ingelise Driehuis reached the quarter-finals. At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics Murić and Iva Majoli reached round two in the doubles.
