Jon Normile was an épée fencer who competed collegiately at Columbia. Normile won NCAA épée titles in 1988 and 1989. He was a three-time US Champion, winning in 1988, 1991, and 1997. Normile competed at the World Championships six times (1989-91, 1994, 1998-99). At the 1992 Pan American Games he won a silver medal in individual épée and a bronze in team épée. Normile added a bronze medal at the 1999 World Cup. He later coached fencing at the Fencing Sports Academy in Washington, DC.
