Biography

Tom Strzalkowski was a sabre fencer who won a gold medal at the 1995 Pan American Games in the team event and then competed for the USA at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Strzalkowski started fencing in 1983 at the Richmond Fencing Club. He was US Junior Champion in 1989 and was on the US National Team from 1989-97, also fencing at the 1994 and 1995 World Championships.

Strzalkowski competed in college at Penn State, where he won the NCAA sabre title for three consecutive years, 1992-94. He later settled in the Denver area where he became business development manager at US Foods. In 1998 he also started the Fencing Academy of Denver, where he has coached fencing for over 20 years.
