Claiborne Walker competed in both individual and team sabre for the US at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics. He attended the US Naval Academy, graduating in 1917 and became a career Naval officer. In April 1927, while stationed aboard the destroyer McCormick in Shanghai Harbour, Walker took his own life via self-inflicted gunshot wounds.
