Keith Miller coached Australia at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He started out as a player, winning the Woollacott Medal in 1947 as the best player in South Australia, and later founding the West Adelaide Basketball Club. After his competitive career ended in 1952, Miller coached South Australia to five consecutive finals appearances at the Australian nationals, winning the title in 1960, 1963, and 1964.
Miller started his coaching career in 1957 with the South Australian junior team, and then became the men’s national coach from 1962-64. He also entered administration, becoming the first full-time employee of Australian Basketball in 1958.
Miller was made a life member of West Adelaide and Basketball South Australia and was an inaugural Basketball South Australia Hall of Fame inductee. In 1981 he was the recipient of a Basketball Australia Merit Award and was inducted into the Basketball Australia Hall of Fame in 2007 as a coach.
