Japan’s Masahiko Yoshida played basketball for Rikkyo University and Nippon Kokan. In 1967 Yoshida was part of the Japanese team that played at the FIBA World Championship in Montevideo, Uruguay. After his career as a player he turned to coaching and led the national team at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. Yoshida continued to work in basketball for the rest of his life, including serving as the executive director of the Tokyo Basketball Association and the deputy secretary general of Japan’s Basketball Promotion Council.
