Softball coach Ralph Raymond had a great record with the US women’s national team, with the side winning two Olympic golds and five world titles. Raymond’s international coaching career spanned almost three decades, winning his first World Championship title with the team in 1974. This was followed by four more World Championship titles (1978, 1986, 1990, 1994), along with three gold medals at the Pan American Games (1979, 1995, 1999). In 1996 Raymond led the side to gold at the Atlanta Olympics, with the team repeating the feat four years later at the Sydney Games. Even before his two Olympic golds Raymond was inducted into the World Baseball Softball Confederation Hall of Fame in 1993.
