Forward Josef Epp was a member of the Austrian football team at the 1948 London Olympics. They lost their first-round match 3-0 to the eventual gold medallists Sweden. In total, Epp won eight international caps and scored five goals.
Domestically, Epp played with SC Metallum Wien (Vienna) (until 1937), Wiener (Vienna) SC (1937-50), Linzer ASK (1950-51), 1. FC Wien (Vienna) (1951-53), and Servette Genève in Switzerland (1953-55). He then turned to coaching and worked with Linzer ASK.
