An excellent all-round athlete, Bobby Lane played ice hockey, rugby, baseball, and football. He played for the Galt Football Club that won the Ontario Cup from 1901-1903. He also played ice hockey for Galt in the Western Ontario Hockey League. He worked as a salesman, both with Wilson Furniture and later for the Fuller Brush Company.
