Fred Steep had a football career with many different clubs. He started in junior leagues with Galt in 1892. He later played for the Hamilton St. Matthew’s team and the Toronto Gore Vales, and captained the Gore Vales to the Ontario Championship in 1899 and 1902. He led Galt to a Dominion Championship in 1903, and after the Olympics, moved to Guelph and played for the Taylor-Forbes team. His career was as a machinist.
