Esse Schybergson excelled in tennis, archery, and football. He competed at the 1924 Olympics in tennis in singles and doubles. Schybergson was 25th in the 1934 World Archery Championships. He helped Unitas win the first Finnish football championship in 1908, and played an international against Sweden in 1911. Schybergson was chairman of the Football Association of Finland from 1912-14, chaired the Finnish Tennis Association from 1935-37, and led the Finnish Netball Association in 1931-34. Schybergson was a dentist by profession. He also published several well-known books in Finnish – Verkkopallopeli – Lawn-tennis - (Netball and Lawn Tennis) in 1915, and Lawn-tennis in 1916. His brother, Lasse Schybergson, participated in the 1912 Olympics as a member of the football team and their brother Richard Schybergson also played football on international level for Finland.
