Biography

Flemming Nielsen was a Danish footballer who played the midfield positions. He won a silver with Denmark at the 1960 Roma Olympics. Nielsen started his career in Denmark with the B 93 team from 1951-57, then played for AB from 1958-60. He later played professionally for Atalanta BC in Serie A from 1961-64, and the Scottish club Morton (later Greenock Morton) from 1964-66, before returning to B 93 for one final year before retiring. With Atalanta he won the 1963 Coppa Italia. Nielsen was capped 26 times, the first against Switzerland in 1954.

Nielsen later became a sports journalist for Aftenbladet, Politiken, and B.T.. He also wrote two books about football.
