Left-winger Carl Aage Præst took up football with the Østerbros Boldklub youth team in 1936 and made his début on their senior team at the 1940 Danish Championships. Known for his great balance and goal scoring ability, he débuted with the Danish national team in June 1945, and eventually earned 24 international caps, scoring 17 goals between 1945-49. He also participated in international exhibition games for Danish teams Stævnet (a Danish team composed of København based players) and Alliancen (a Danish team composed of Danish club members including Østerbros Boldklub), and in 1947 was selected for the Europe XI, which lost 6-1 to Great Britain. Præst was also part of the Danish team at the 1948 Olympics, where he played four games and scored two goals as Denmark won a bronze medal. After the Olympics, he signed a professional contract with Italian club Juventus. Præst played with Juventus until 1956 and won the Seria A with them in 1950 and 1952, and finished his career in 1956-57 with Lazio in Italy. He was elected to the Danish Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
