Ellis Ferreira

Ellis Ferreira was a South African professional tennis player who primarily played in doubles. During his career Ferreira was ranked number two in the world in doubles and won two Grand Slam titles.

Ferreira won his first ATP tour doubles title in October 1995 at the Vienna Open with Dutchman Jan Siemerink. Ferreira won 18 ATP doubles titles during his career, often paired with Americans Patrick Galbraith or Rick Leach. At Grand Slams his singles record was unimpressive, with only one appearance in the second round of any tournament. However, he excelled as a doubles player, winning the 2000 Australian Open with Rick Leach, and the mixed doubles at the 2001 Australian Open with Corina Morariu. Ferreira also reached the doubles final at the US Open in 2000.

At the 1996 Atlanta Olympics he teamed with Wayne Ferreira (no relation) in the doubles, with the pair reaching the quarter-finals.
