Tom Burridge played at centre-half for Upton Park when they won the 1900 Olympic tournament, he was just 19 years of age at the time and also served on the committee of the club at such a young age. He joined Upton Park in 1899 and spent six years with them, touring on at least four occasions. He was a veterinary student at the time of his Olympic victory and went on to make a career in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps along with team Upton Park team-mate John Nicholas and his brother John.
