Defender Artur Ullrich was on the final East German football (soccer) squad at the 1980 Moskva Olympics that won the silver medal after losing the final against Czechoslovakia 1-0. He earned 13 international caps in total and played four matches with the GDR Olympic team.
Domestically, Ullrich played with BFC Dynamo Berlin from 1976-86, winning East German Championships consecutively from 1979-86. With Berlin, he played 171 Oberliga matches, scoring 25 goals. In 1986, he moved to Hansa Rostock, playing 81 more Oberliga matches, scoring two goals. By profession, Ullrich was a graduated sports teacher and founded a fitness studio after German re-unification.
