Hans Reese

Hans Reese, a defender, was a member of the German soccer team at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. He played for Holstein Kiel from 1900-23, winning the German Championship in 1912 against Karlsruher FV 1-0, after they lost the final two years earlier against the same opponent by the same score. He earned his only cap at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics in the consolation game against Russia.

Reese studied medicine and became a professor of neurology in Kiel. He then moved to the University of Wisconsin in 1924 in the USA, where he studied drugs and illnesses related to the human nerve system. In 1958 Reese retired but still worked as a consultant for the university until his death in 1973.
