Christian Forcellini

Christian Forcellini was a tennis player, sprinter, and golfer from San Marino. Forcellini competed in the tennis doubles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics with Gabriel Francini with the pair losing their first round match. After the Olympics, he played in six Davis Cup matches for San Marino from 1993 to 1994.

As an athlete Forcellini ran in the men’s 60 metres at the 1996 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Stockholm. He finished in last place in his heat with the second-slowest time of the 27 competitors. In 1999 he won bronze in the 4×100 metres relay at the Games of the Small States of Europe. Forcellini set several national records including in the rarely-contested 150 metres. As a golf player he was also a national champion in San Marino.

After his retirement from competitive sports Forcellini became the President of the San Marino Tennis Federation, became a member of the executive committee of the San Marino National Olympic Committee, and founded the San Marino Open tennis tournament.
