Biography

Footballer Léon Letsch joined Spora Luxembourg in 1945 and won a league title with them in 1949, in addition to the Luxembourg Cup in 1949 and 1950. He then had a stint with France’s CO Roubaix-Tourcoing through 1953, at which point he rejoined Spora and remained with them until his retirement in 1961. During that time, he won two more league titles (1956, 1961) and one more Luxembourg Cup (1957). He was also a member of the Luxembourg national team during this time and appeared most notably at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, where his country defeated Great Britain in the qualifying round, but then lost to Brazil in round one.
