Luxembourg footballer Vic Nurenburg began his career in his hometown with FC Progrès Niedercorn at the age of 16 while working as a locksmith at a local factory. After five years he moved to France to play for OGC Nice and spent the bulk of his career there, with 252 appearances in 9 years, but also had stints with FC Sochaux, Olympique Lyonnais, and SC Bastia. During this time he won French League titles three times (1952, 1956, and 1959) and the Coupe de France twice (1952 and 1954), all with OGC Nice. By 1964 he had acquired a coaching certification and spent 1964 through 1966 as a player-coach with Spora Luxembourg (capturing the Luxembourg Cup in 1965 and 1966), and the following season with AS Mantaise of France. He also played internationally with Luxembourg during this period and made five appearances, two of which occurred at the 1952 Summer Olympics, where his country was eliminated in Round One. After his football career ended, he worked at a casino in Nice for four years prior to opening up his own café in the city.
