Biography

Hans Endrerud played as a forward for Mercantile in Kristiania (now Oslo), a club that he co-founded in 1903 after leaving SK Grane. The club dominated the local scene and won the first eight district championships (1906-13) with Endrerud on the team. He helped his club win the Norwegian Cup in 1907 and 1912. In 1908 he captained the Norwegian team in their first ever international match scoring one of their goals in the 11-3 defeat against Sweden. Until 1912 he won a total of six caps. At the 1912 Olympic Games, he represented Norway in the matches against Denmark and Austria, both of which were lost without scoring a single goal.

His older brother Anton played for Grane winning the first ever Norwegian football cup championship in 1902. In 1911, Hans Endrerud married Eugenie “Ninni” Hanssen, with whom he had two sons and one daughter. He started his professional career as clerk in a metal construction company.
