Rotislav Václavíček was a Czech footballer who won a gold medal at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, which were boycotted by the Western countries. A forward, he won 17 international caps with the Czechoslovakian Olympic team, but never won a senior cap. At club level, Václavíček played with Železárny Prostějov (until 1970), NHKG Ostrava (1970-71), FC Zbrojovka Brno (1971-81), KSC Hasselt (1981-84) in Belgium, and Brno again (1984-86). In 1978, he helped Brno win its only national title. Václavíček later turned to coaching and worked in Austria and Czechoslovakia.
