Brian Maisonneuve

Brian Maisonneuve played soccer at Indiana University from 1991-94, winning the Hermann Trophy as a senior, emblematic of the nation’s top collegiate player. Maisonneuve finished his career as the all-time leading scorer in the Big 10.

Maisonneuve was a defensive midfielder who played for the US at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He ended his international career with 13 caps, and in 2002 he helped the US win the CONCACAF Gold Cup. He played professionally in MLS with the Columbus Crew for his entire career, which ended in 2004.

After his playing days came to an end, Maissoneve went into coaching, starting with the US U-17 national team as an assistant coach from 2004-08. In 2008 he became an assistant at the University of Louisville, but in 2010 went back to his alma mater as an assistant. In 2018 he became the head men’s coach at The Ohio State University.
