A left-sided striker who was exceptionally fast, Milan Galić was capped 51 times for Yugoslavia between 1959-65, scoring 37 goals. In addition to his 1960 Olympic gold medal, he won a silver medal at the 1960 European Championships, and was fourth with the Yugoslavian team at the 1962 World Cup. At the club level, he played for Proleter Zrenjanin, FK Partizan Beograd, Standard Liège, and Stade Reims, winning four national club titles with Partizan.
