Margo Morgan was a member of the successful Swansea YMCA team that won the British Women’s Team Championship in the three consecutive years 1950-52. Their success in 1950 was the first for the Swansea Club, and was a memorable championship for them because in the British Women’s Championship, three Swansea members, Cissy Davies, Sylvia Whitford, and Morgan occupied second, third and fourth place respectively behind the winner Pat Hirst.
In 1952, Morgan was part of the Great Britain team at the Helsinki Olympics that finished 16th and last in the team event. When the team was announced in June 1952, however, she was a reserve with Audrey Rennard, but got her call up when 1948 Olympian Dorothy Hey pulled out because of work commitments as a hairdresser.
