Ethel Seymour was a member of the Northampton Polytechnic Institute (NPI) Women’s Gymnastics Club that won the inaugural national team title in 1923. She was also one of the six members of the NPI club in the first ever British women’s gymnastics team, at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.
Seymour’s best individual performance was in finishing third behind Dorothy Billson and Jessie Kite at the 1925 national championship. Two years later she finished fourth behind the winner Carrie Pickles.
