Lidia Szczerbinska was a Polish gymnast who competed at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, helping the Polish team win a bronze medal in the team portable apparatus event, one of only two times that was contested at the Olympics (also 1952). At the 1955 International Youth and Student Games in Warszawa, Szczerbinska won team silver medals in all-around and portable apparatus events. She graduated from the Secondary School of Physical Education in Gdańsk. She met her future husband during the Melbourne Olympics and they settled in Australia.
