Prior to the 1960 Roma Games a magazine asked the question “will she [Lena Adler] be the Swedish poster girl of the Olympics?”. Sadly for Adler her results at the Olympics did not live up to the hype with her best individual performance coming in the horse vault where she tied for 13th place with Poland’s Natalia Kot. The Swedish team finished 11th overall with Adler finishing in 54th on the balance beam, 62nd in the individual all-round, 68th in the floor exercise, and 86th in the uneven bars.
