Svetlana Baitova was a Belarusian artistic gymnast who represented the Soviet Union in the late 1980s. Baitova was a four-time USSR champion, winning the all-round title in 1986, the vault in 1987, and the balance beam title in 1987 and 1989. In 1987 she was part of the Soviet team that won silver in the team competition at the World Championships in Rotterdam. One year later she helped the USSR to win gold in the same event at the Seoul Olympics, in addition to having top-10 individual performances in both the balance beam and uneven bars. Baitova finished her competitive career with another gold, this time in the team event at the 1989 World Championships in Stuttgart. After her retirement she worked as a gymnastics coach, including spending almost a year in Qatar training new athletes.
