Ruth Grulkowski was AAU National All-Around champion in 1953 and 1954. She represented the Lincoln Turners, the Bud Beyer’s Chicago Acro Theater, and the Adagio Gymnastics Group. Grulkowski attended the University of Chicago, where she started her gymnastics career, and later became a realtor. She married Robert Hatyina and raised three daughters.
