Biography

Teri Montefusco started dancing as a child which led to her gymnastics career. She became AAU champion in tumbling in 1958-59, a non-Olympic event. At the 1959 Pan American Games Montefusco won gold medals in the team all-around, in floor exercise, and a silver on the uneven bars. She has had various careers. At the time of the 1960 Olympics she worked as a dental assistant. After marrying and raising three sons, as Teri Miller, she worked at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois and ran Teri’s Aerobics Studio. She later started Teri’s Nail and Spa Salon in Peoria. Montefusco-Miller is a member of the Peoria Sports Hall of Fame.
