In addition to his 1948 Olympic gymnastics appearance, Enrique Rapesta competed at the 1951 and 1955 Pan American Games, winning 15 medals, and four gold medals. All but one of these were in team events, which were contested at the Pan Ams in that era, and included his four gold medals in team events in 1951 (competing alongside his 1948 Olympic teammates Jorge Soler, Pedro Lonchibuco, César Bonoris, Juan Caviglia, Roberto Núñez). Rapesta did win an individual silver medal on parallel bars in 1951.
Rapesta moved to Brazil in 1953 where he became a pioneering artistics gymnastics teacher, judge and official, settling in Rio de Janeiro. He also coached the national team at international competitions, but had moved into an administrative position by the time the team reached the Olympics in 1980. He remained in Brazil until his death in 2009. His son, Norton Rapesta later became a Brazilian diplomat.
