Graham Bond competed in gymnastics at three Olympics – 1956, 1960, and 1964. He studied at Wondai State School where he excelled in many sports, but gymnastics was his best one. He was a top bowler on the Wondai cricket squad. Bond was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford, England where he studied philosophy, politics, and economics at Balliol College. In 1966 he was awarded a PhD with his thesis entitled, “The application of computers to the solution of mine ventilation networks at the University of Queensland.”
