Börje Karvonen boxed for Finland at the 1960 and 1964 Olympics. He was Finnish Champion for eight consecutive years, 1960-67. Karvonen earned 31 international caps. He was considered the best Nordic boxer from 1963-65, and in 1966 was selected as the best Finnish boxer. Karvonen worked as a firefighter. He also played football with Ore Ponnistajien.
