Francesco Bianchi was a referee and manager of Italian basketball. Among the leaders of the school of refereeing of Livorno along with Gualtiero Follati and Goffredo Sussi, he officiated from 1960 to 1975 in the Italian Top League and, internationally, in over 150 games, with the highlight coming when he officiated at the 1972 München Olympics.
After ending his sporting days, affectionately known as “Cecco”, Bianchi became manager of the Libertas Livorno basketball team which, in the 1988-89 season, with the name of Enichem, lost the final for the Italian title against Philips Milano after a five-game series.
