Auguste Pompogne graduated in 1904. In 1912, he competed the individual all-around at the Olympic Games in Stockholm finishing 14th. In World War I, he served as a corporal in the 167th Infantry Regiment. Pompogne died in a hospital in Lyon from a bronchopneumonia caused by an influenza, he had contracted during wartime service. He worked as a stationer, was married and had one son.
