Biography

East German gymnast Erwin Koppe finished seventh with the team in the all-around event and 50th in the individual all-around at the 1960 Roma Olympic Games. He did not advance to any of the individual finals, nor did he do so four years later. In 1964 at Tokyo he earned a bronze medal with the team, while finishing 19th in individual all-around. In 1966 Koppe also won a team bronze at the Worlds. Between 1959 and 1965 he won 12 individual East German national titles.
