Shigeo Homma graduated from the Tokyo College of Science’ Education Department. He competed in gymnastics at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics and was a gymnastics coach at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Homma was later appointed a professor and taught at the Tokyo College of Physical Education, the Tokyo University of Education, and the Tokyo Women’s College of Sports. He also wrote books about gymnastics.
