Biography

Polish gymnast Jan Jankowicz represented Gwardia Warszawa from the mid-1950s until the early 1960s, becoming a multiple-time national champion. From 1957 to 1963 Jankowicz won 13 Polish titles with victory in the all-round event (1957–58, 1963), the parallel bars (1957–58, 1961, 1963), the rings (1957–58, 1963), the vault (1957–58), and the horizontal bar (1962). In 1964 he finished fifth in the team event at the Tokyo Olympics, with a best individual performance of 30th in the parallel bars.
