Louis Bordo competed in gymnastics at South Philadelphia High School and then Penn State University, graduating from there in 1943 with a degree in dairy husbandry. At Penn State he was Eastern Intercollegiate Gymnastics League (EIGL) champion on the parallel bars in 1941 and 43. He later became a health department inspector and supervisor for the city of Philadelphia for over 25 years. He is a member of the Penn State Sports Hall of Fame and the US Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1991.
