Midfielder Emil Juracka was a member of the Austrian field handball team that won the silver medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He played three matches during the tournament. Domestically, he played with Polizei SV Wien (Vienna). In 1944 Juracka succumbed to his injuries sustained during World War II at the main field hospital in Toshchitsa, Russia (now Belorussia).
