Midfielder Poldl Wohlrab was a member of the Austrian field handball team that won the silver medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He played three matches during the tournament. Domestically, he played with Alt-Turm Wien (Vienna). He was the only Austrian handball player who won the 1938 World Championship with Germany after he was forced to represent Nazi Germany after the “Anschluss”.
