Biography

Having placed seventh with the Norwegian team at the 1982 World Championship in Hungary, Kristin Midthun was part of the Norwegian team that surprisingly won a bronze medal at the 1986 Championship in the Netherlands. This was the start of Norwegian handball success and they followed it with a silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, of which Midthun was part of the team. Midthun was a left wing, and played in 143 international matches and scored 306 goals. She won the league title in 1989 with IL Vestar. In her private life she worked in the pharmaceutical industry with various analytical products.
