Chris Roberts was a left-handed pitcher who played for the US at the 1989 World Junior Baseball Championships, the 1991 Pan American Games, and the 1992 Barcelona Olmpics. Roberts was drafted out of high school by the Philadelphia Phillies in the second round of the 1989 MLB Draft, but elected to go to college at Florida State. After his junior year he was drafted by the New York Mets in the first round (18th overall) of the 1992 MLB Draft.
Roberts never played in the Major Leagues, playing in the minors with the Mets organization from 1993-97. He later played for the Chiba Lotte Marines of the Nippon Professional Baseball League in 2000-01, after which he retired. Roberts later became assistant college coach at Stetson University.
