Chris Wimmer was a second baseman and shortstop, who occasionally played the outfield. He played in college at Wichita State University, where he would eventually be inducted into the Wichita State Hall of Fame. Wimmer was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 13th round of the 1989 MLB Draft but chose to go to college. He was drafted again in 1992 by the San Francisco Giants in the eighth round. Wimmer never played in the Major Leagues, as he bounced around the minors from 1993-99, mostly in Double-A and Triple-A ball.
Wimmer later worked as a senior baseball operations executive with baseball agent Jim Turner. He then left to help form Edge Sports International, a sports management and marketing group representing professional athletes.
