Biography

As Chryssandra Watts, Chryssandra Hires played basketball at the University of North Carolina, graduating in 1989. She also ran track, helping the Tar Heels win the 1988 ACC Championship as a long jumper, triple jumper, and heptathlete. Hires joined the US National Handball team in 1989 and played with them through 1997, winning a gold medal at the 1997 Pan American Championship in addition to her 1996 Olympic appearance.

Hires later served three years on the Board of Directors for USA Team Handball and for two years on the United States Olympic High Performance Planning Committee. She later became a managing broker at Torch Realty on Colorado Springs.
