Biography

David DeGraaf attended the US Air Force Academy where he played football and basketball as a freshman, and then played team handball his last three years. He joined the US National Team in January 1994, playing that year at the Goodwill Games, and in 1995 played at the World Championships, the Pan American Games, and the USA NationsBank Cup. DeGraaf fulfilled his military commitment from the Air Force Academy and then stayed in the Air Force Reserves, retiring as a major in 2014.

In business DeGraaf joined Johnson Controls and stayed with them for over 15 years, eventually becoming Vice President & General Manager with the Power Products Division. He then joined Faurecia, an automotive technology firm, where he was President and General Manager of their automotive exhaust business. In 2018 DeGraaf was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Gill Industries, a welding and assembly company.
